Clear Comedy Review

Write for us

Clear Comedy Review welcomes pitches that help readers see a comic choice more clearly. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without prior agreement.

Subjects that fit

We are interested in focused pieces about joke structure, comic characters, scene shape, timing, and the differences between comic forms. A pitch might explain one clear idea, compare two distinct approaches, or examine a common misunderstanding without pretending there is one rule for every kind of comedy.

Make the pitch concrete

Tell us the proposed angle, the reader who might find it useful, and the main point the piece will make. Include a brief outline and note what examples or material you would rely on. Avoid claims that need unavailable evidence, broad promises to cover everything, and pitches built around a list of jokes without an editorial question.

Editorial expectations

Contributions should be original, clearly argued, and written in plain English. Explain the reasoning behind an interpretation, treat examples in context, and distinguish personal response from factual assertion. A proposal is not a commitment to publish, and terms can be discussed if a piece is commissioned.

Where to send it

Use the Contact page to send your proposal and choose the editorial question option. Include a way to reply in the form; there is no need to send a full draft unless requested.

Our point of view

A laugh has a shape worth noticing

Comedy often depends on a precise shift: a detail arrives late, a plan grows too large, or a character takes the wrong thing seriously. We look at those choices without treating laughter as a formula.
